Have a Fall Fling With Some Odd Ball November Holidays!
November is a month typically geared towards the fall season and Thanksgiving traditions. But, we wanted to explore all of the Non-Traditional or Odd Holidays you may want to celebrate in November as well. Who knew there were even more reasons to enjoy your autumnal month?
Which crazy Holiday are you going to celebrate this month?!
National Cook For Your Pets Day
November 1st
National Cook for your Pets day gives us all an excuse to treat our furry friends a little extra special for 24 hours. Show your pet even more love on this day and cook up a fun recipe they will enjoy. This holiday was created to support education about pet food and the bond between you and your animal. Don’t forget to ask your veterinarian if you are using safe ingredients before cooking up this fun meal! “Bone-Appetite”!
Zero Tasking Day
November 6th
Zero-Tasking day occurs on the first Sunday of November and originally began in 2021. This is a day dedicated to allowing individuals to take a break from their busy schedules, and take a breath before the end of daylight savings time. This is a perfect day for any of us with lazy personalities to just sit back and chill, and for those who are always on the go this holiday can be a good reminder to take some much needed time for yourself. Today is the day “you can smoke two joints in the morning, smoke two joints at night, and then you can smoke two more”!
National Scrapple Day
November 9th
If you’ve never heard of scrapple, today is the day! National scrapple day celebrates the iconic 17th century Dutch Pennsylvania breakfast dish. As people have been eating Scrapple for over 100 years, of course it would have its own holiday. Scrapple is recognized as America’s first pork dish and consists of a pork loaf that has been battered and specifically seasoned. Ways you can enjoy scrapple day is by either introducing someone to scrapple, trying scrapple for the first time, sharing scrapple recipes, or posting on social media using #NationalScrappleDay! Perfect day for the Munchies, happy feasting!
National Button Day
November 16th
National Button Day was founded by the National Button Society in 1938. This day honors the hobby of button collecting and all different functions of buttons. The earliest record of buttons in human history is 1000 BC used decoratively or functionally. Often overlooked and one of the most useful tools to human kind, I think many of us can relate to the button and believe it 100% deserved its own holiday! Enjoy the holiday, try crafting with buttons or starting your own button collection! Pro-Tip DIY crafts are more fun with a little “inspiration”!
World Hello Day
November 21st
World Hello day may seem like a simple idea but little do people know it actually comes with a larger meaning. Founded in 1973 by Brian McCormak a PH, the idea behind the holiday is to be a message for world leaders to use communication rather than force to settle conflicts. To add, it also advocates the importance of personal communication and being a lovely person. During the day the end goal is for you to greet at least 10 different people in a friendly way. It’s not hard to be kind while on the “Kind”!
Fibonacci Day
November 23rd
For all of you stoner mathematician’s out there, Fibonacci day may become your new favorite Holiday. This day is celebrated because when the date is written in the mm/dd format (11/23), the digits in the date form a Fibonacci sequence: 1,1,2,3. A Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers where a number is the sum of the two numbers before it. This day honors the most influential mathematicians from the middle ages. Fun fact, a number of fruits and vegetables display the Fibonacci Series such as pineapple, romanesco, and even Kush!
Hopefully this blog helps you have some beautiful Fall Festivities!
