Ya heard of “B Stamp” glass pieces? If you’ve been in to any of our three locations and have asked our staff about quality local glass, then they’ve most likely recommended one of these pieces to you. It’s not only the small glass pipes that seem to keep catching our attention, but everything that Mr. Brandon Delay spits out is pretty much a masterpiece and hard to keep on the shelves for long. So… who is this cat behind all the cool glass coming out of his hotshop? We were honored to have had the opportunity to chat with the artist to find out a little more about him.

So who is Brandon Delay?

1. Where you were born and raised? What kind of hobbies did you have as a kid?
I was born in San Francisco, Ca. in 1987. Hobbies as a kid included skateboarding and bikes.

2. If you weren’t born in Colorado, what brought you here?
I had family out here.

3. What got you into glass blowing?
We took a trip to Oregon when I was 13-14 yrs old and there was a hotshop out on a pier making glass floats. I sat there for a couple hours just watching. I was hooked.

4. What’s the story behind the famous B Stamp pieces we have in store? What’s so special about them and how the heck are you able to throw them across the room without breaking?
So after about a year of blowing glass there was a point where my glass was starting to look similar to my teachers. And to not get confused as to who’s was who’s I started stamping my work. I think you’re able to throw them because they are way more dense than most glass pipes so they bounce kinda like a marble. It’s glass though so it’ll still break at some point.

5. What’s your favorite thing about what you do?
I think the best thing is being my own boss and making my own hours. Also being able to just play with fire all day.

6. Can you please provide any other fun information you think we should share?
I started blowing glass in 2003 making pipes. In 2005, I learned soft glass and did that for about 4 years before going back to pipes.

As you can see from the pictures, it’s no surprise why we carry these bada$$ pieces in each of our locations. They’re fun, high quality, and are made right here in the lovely state of Colorado. And as many of you know, there’s nothing we love more than supporting other local businesses and artists.
