It’s high times in Colorado now that we’re at the height of ski season.  For the first time in years, we’re over 100% snowpack by early February.  And… weed is legal in Colorado.  The joys of living in Colorado know no bounds!

However, two of Colorado’s favorite pastimes don’t necessarily go hand-in-hand.  Our friends at Green Rush Daily remind us that, technically, ski resorts are on federal land so it’s still illegal to smoke or possess marijuana on the slopes.  They recommend finding slopes that are closest to great green resources.

In that spirit, with the help of our friends at Westword, we’ve compiled a list of Mountain Towns and their ganja-friendliness to help you help yourself.

Mountain Towns Allowing Recreational Sales: Alma, Aspen, Basalt, Breckenridge, Carbondale, Crested Butte, Dillon, Durango, Eagle, Fraser, Frisco, Georgetown, Glenwood Springs, Gunnison, Leadville, Mancos, Ridgway, Silver Plume, Silverton, Steamboat Springs and Telluride.

Mountain Towns Banning Recreational Sales: Avon*, Craig, Mountain Village, Snowmass Village, Vail* and Winter Park.

Mountain Towns Allowing Medical but Not Recreational Sales: Buena Vista and Craig.

* Although retail and medical sales are banned in Avon and Vail, dispensaries located just outside those cities in unincorporated Eagle County list themselves as Avon and Vail dispensaries. Which means you won’t have to go far to get your stash…of powder or pot.

Otherwise, you may be able to find a friendly ski bus to pick you and your friends up in Denver, take you to a retail grow in town for all the essentials, and whisk you to and from your favorite ski resort.

Finally, here’s a recent reminder from our good friends at The Cannabist about your Smoker Supply Kit for hitting the ‘ganjulas’ as you head up your next slope.

Now go blaze those trails!
